Sheshnag mountains look like a seven heads, the lake looks like the body of the snake coiled up and the stream looks like the tail of the serpent. Legend has it that, Parvati insisted to Lord Shiva to tell her the secret of His immortality Lord Shiva left his Nandi at Pahalgam, the bull and released the Moon from His hair at Chandanwari. At the banks of Lake Sheshnag, He released the snakes and decided to leave His son Ganesh at Mahagunas or Mahaganesh Parvat. Finally, at Panchtarni, Lord Shiva left the five elements on his way to Amarnath Cave. The mountain views of nearby sights are really amazing.
