Kashmirhotravel
provides tour and travel packages to one of the
famous festival
of Ladakh, “Sindhu Darshan Festival”.
This festival is celebrated as a tribute to the River
Indus, which is locally known as the Sindhu River.
Sindhu Darshan festival is celebrated in splendid
manner in the month of June on the full moon day
which occurs on “Guru Purnima” for
three consecutive days. |
Contestants from all over the country
participate in this festival. They bring water
from the river of their own state in earthen
pots and submerge these pots in the Sindhu River.
Consequently, the waters of all rivers merge
together, symbolizing the rich cultural uniqueness
of the country.
On first day of the festival, a reception is
conducted to welcome the participants of the
festival. A ritual prayer is carried out by
the senior Lamas on the banks of the Sindhu
River and cultural programmes are performed
by the contestants representing their states
on the second day. Afterward, the participants
are taken around for a sight-seeing. On the
third day, Sindhu Pujan takes place followed
by cultural programmes and sightseeing and
subsequently the participants get ready for
departure. |

The
shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is a manifestation of the
Mother Goddess and it lies
nestled in a natural cave located in the Trikuta Mountains
in the form of 3 'Pindis' namely, “Maha Kali”, “Maha
Laxmi” and “Maha Sarawati” towering
above Katra, in Jammu province, the winter capital of
the state
of Jammu and Kashmir. Vaishnodevi temple is extremely
popular to the people of all faiths. |
|
There are many who
journey here year after year to pay obeisance, regardless
of their faith or belief, creed or class, caste or
religion, for Mata Vaishno Devi transcends all such
barriers.
Four objectives of human life as brought forward
by Indian spiritual beliefs are—Dharm (righteousness),
Kaam (Pleasure), Moksh (Knowledge) and Arth (Wealth).
When people visit the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi
all these four blessings are conferred on them. The
shrine is visited throughout the year and it is believed
that no one goes empty handed from the great pilgrimage
of Vaishno Devi Maa.
